GROUNDING & RESET

Reset  = return to original state.

Grounding = connection to the electrical energy of the Earth.

In the old days this contact with the earth was made naturally, as we always walked barefoot.

In modern society we are most of the time isolated from this earth energy by wearing shoes with rubber soles, carpets, insulating carpets or synthetic material on the floor.

We are literally disconnected by accumulating static electricity. 

Planet Earth is an inexhaustible source of free electrons. When you walk barefoot, as your body is a conductor, you allow these electrons to circulate through your body, possibly acting as antioxidants and neutralising radicals, which are responsible for many inflammatory processes.

Several studies show that practising grounding regulates cortisol, the stress hormone. Many diseases for which stress is an important risk factor have been reported. Stress increases the levels of this hormone. 

According to a study by G. Chevalier of the Department of Cell Biology at the University of California, the practice of grounding reduces blood viscosity, one of the main causes of cardiovascular problems.

Perhaps keeping these physiological levels out of the correct ranges in our current way of life may influence the enormous amount of chronic diseases that exist today.

This is explained by James L. Oschman PhD in his text on chronic disease entitled «Chronic Disease: Are we missing something?» in which he argues that our modern way of living, which causes us to be disconnected from the earth, may contribute to chronic levels of inflammation, a key feature of many chronic diseases.

The practice of Grounding could be the key to preventing and complementing therapies for many, many chronic or inflammation-related diseases.

Grounding is as easy as walking barefoot on the ground. One of the best ways to do this is to walk barefoot on grass or turf to reconnect with your electrical energy.

Bathing in the sea, in a river, leaning against a tree, walking along the shore… are wonderful ways to tune into the earth’s electrical potential. 

 The free electrons of the earth neutralise free radicals, these radicals being responsible for inflammation and inflammation being a cause of so many of the chronic diseases that could encompass all the diseases of modern civilisation.

 The individual who is in contact with the Earth, equalises his electrical potential with that of the planet, which after all is the natural potential of the living beings that live here. When you change this electrical potential by isolating yourself with rubber soles, your physiology changes (you are chemistry, therefore you are electrons, protons and their interaction) and when you change you stop functioning properly. Eventually disease could appear.
